The Princess & The Pea?

Or maybe just a cat trapped in a poodle's disguise. Hehe!

Yellow Bird

Jie jie loves bird-watching (or is it chasing?). Anyhoo, this morn, we had the pleasure of having one of her friends visit. Everyone, meet Yellow Bird!

Cuzzie Nicole, this one's for you:

"Yellow bird, up high in banana tree.
Yellow bird, you sit all alone like me.
Did your lady friend leave the nest again?
That is very sad, Makes me feel so bad.
You can fly away, In the sky away
You're more lucky than me..."

Party Of Three

Jie jie and I turned 10 and 3 respectively earlier this year but we never got round to celebrating because of Missy's work. We've always celebrated birthdays. Jie jie's anniversaries, especially, are of particular significance. When friends receive invitations, they know, like Aunt HL once put it, that 'it's the time of the year'. Missy has been waiting a long time to make it up to us. So today, finally, we had our belated celebrations.

This time, there were no guests, but we had nature, beautiful nature, the trees and the birds, and we had a freshly baked Strawberry Tart in place of the birthday cake. And we had us, a party of three.

Quick Meals

With Grandmama away at Cuzzie Nicole's so much, sometimes Heinz baby food comes to Missy's rescue when she needs to whip up something quick for us.

So what's on the menu?

Pumpkin, Potato & Beef

or

Pumpkin & Sweetcorn

Throw in some rice and

a hard boiled egg and voila!

We don't mind it so much. It's still yummy!

And it's nice when Missy does the groceries shopping. She always buys something interesting for a treat!

What's for dessert?

Lychees!

Singapore Botanic Gardens Revisited

Following Aunt Jo-Ann's urging, we visited the Botanic Gardens today. We were pleasantly surprised. The grounds have become even more beautiful!

Here's us at the Main Gate.   ›

We love the details!

And here's us amidst the lush tropical foliage!

We caught many interesting sights!

A lovely pair of swans.   ›

Do you spot the little terrapin behind?

This giant turtle was as curious about us as we were about him. He swam right up to the surface and poked his head up to take a look at us.

We also saw a cute little black chick but Missy was too slow and didn't manage to take a picture.

Later in the evening, we sat down to a nice jazz performance by the Thomson Jazz Club . It was really cool! We took a video clip and would have loved to share the music with you except silly Missy forgot to turn on the volume!

We didn't take too many pictures today as the garden was much too crowded. But the grounds were absolutely charming and we would love to come back soon.

Special commendation by Missy: "Waverly's leash broke halfway through our fun today so we had to leave her to off-leash. I was a tad anxious due to the crowds and was very conscious of her being off-leash with the 'Dogs must be leashed' signs all around us. But little Waverly was so good! Although never formally obedience-trained, she stayed close throughout. Her lovely temperament endeared her to many who stopped in their tracks to take photos of Daisy and her. I'm so proud of my little girl!"

Pudel

Meet my new friend, Pudel. Missy adopted Pudel from Ikea. She's a German Poodle and is silver, just like me!

We're best friends!

Pudel's telling me a bedtime story.

And I soon fell fast asleep.

Daisy's Cozy Corner

Just because she is 'first born', jie jie has a special place in the Grands' hearts as well as their room. This is jie jie's cozy corner in the Grands' room:

This beautiful frame was a gift

from Aunt Cel for jie jie's

9th anniversary last year.

Thank you again, Aunt Cel!

How come I don't have a cozy corner......

......because my place is right by Missy.

Back On Track

Oh boy oh boy, it's good to be back after such a long hiatus! Did anyone miss us?

Here's what we've been up to since Missy got us back on track. Check out these cover shots. Have we been busy!

Haha! Before we have you think we've made it big, here, have some fun at MagMyPic.com. (Thanks for sharing, Cuzzie Nicole!)

What we do have is a nomination for the Pet Website Award offered by Petwellbeing.com:

We're incredibly honoured for the nomination. Do lend us your support!

The Great Outdoors

Thanks to the generous Chinese New Year holidays this year, we actually got to spend a whole morning with Missy. We got up real early this morning and headed for the great outdoors. Boy was the cool, dewy morning air refreshing!

Jie jie having a ball of a time!

You don't see as much of me because I'm too quick for Missy!

We always have to have a picture with the great big tree

whenever we come across one because Missy is so awed by big trees.

Look what pretty little things we found among the grass.

Until our next update (which we hope

will not be long), here's leaving you

 with a rather classic shot.

Goodbye Piglet, hello Rat! Happy Lunar New Year, dear friends!

We love mandarin oranges! Pity we only get to eat them once a year.

Of course jie jie is happy, she stole a roast duck drumstick from the reunion dinner!

Jie jie looking diminutive next to the tall hamper.

Missy got us a cute 'chun lian'. Does anyone know what it says?

Here's wishing everyone a prosperous year of the Rat. Stay happy and healthy!

Tre

My 3rd birthday came and went. It was a quiet one this time with Missy taken away by work so much. She felt extremely lousy about not being able to celebrate with me and was full of reproach. I tried to make her feel better by letting her know I didn't mind one bit because, when I am surrounded by Missy's wholehearted love, and the Grands' and Sissy S's, everyday is special and blessed.

The weather's been pretty wet and cold. Tonight, Missy pulled out an old shirt of mine, a gift from Aunt Ivy, to help me keep warm. It's snugness showed just how much I've grown. The shirt only came down 1/3 the length of my body now.

This was how I looked when I first had the shirt:

Missy thinks I've grown up beautifully. Won't you agree?

Winks,

Waverly
